Musical Theatre Intensive - Teen Q&A

If you dream of being on stage, then you are going to love the La Jeunesse Musical Theatre Intensive!

Q: What is the Musical Theatre Intensive all about?

A: MTI combines singing with acting and dancing, working on the big three skills needed to be on stage.

Q: Why do you call it “intensive”?

A: The rehearsals are 2 1/2 hours long, and it’s intense. It takes lots of hard work to put together the show-stopping numbers that MTI performs! But it’s not all work–the rehearsals include drama games and acting exercises to spice things up, and we also regularly have guest clinicians come in to work on specific skills like monologues, stage combat, etc.

Q: Does MTI perform on stage?

A: MTI presents “show choir” numbers at the LJ concerts in the spring and fall each year, and this year we’ll also be putting on a musical.

Q: How can I join?

A: The MTI program is open to everybody who’s enrolled in any of the LJ choirs. The choir membership is essential so that the MTIers get the vocal training they need. Click here for Q&As about the Senior Choir.
